WHAT IS MICROBLADING & SOFT SHADING ….
It is an innovative new semi-permanent makeup method; the technique is natural feathering of hair-like strokes directly on the skin’s surface that creates natural-looking beautifully designed eyebrows. An all-natural color pigment, made of vegetable ink, is matched correctly with your eyebrow hair color, which results in a realistic look. Soft Shading creates the background and fills in the areas of the eyebrows that looked empty so that a full and complete look is accomplished. Unlike an eyebrow tattoo, microblading does not leave a flat, and fake look that tattoos leave behind and is a MUCH SAFER treatment. Microblading and Soft Shading can fill in sparse brows or create an entire brow, which makes it the perfect procedure for Men and Women. The color fades “within” a 1-2 year time period. To maintain, touch ups are necessary every 6 months to 1 year.
IS THIS THE SAME AS AN EYEBROW TATTOO….
No. The work involved is only performed on the surface of the skin. Thus, making it a much safer treatment than eyebrow tattoos. However it is STILL considered a tattoo even though it's marketed at semi-permanent.
IS IT SAFE….
Absolutely. Only Sterilized, disposable needles and supplies are used during the process.
WHAT COLOR PIGMENTS ARE USED….
Li Pigments, a very reputable company and a favorite among Permanent Makeup Artists. I will match your natural hair to a pigment that suits you. I have many to choose from and to mix together the the right color for you.
WILL IT LOOK NATURAL….
It looks as if you applied a pencil, sometimes more natural and a little softer and more muted. Immediately after the treatment the color will appear stronger and darker for the first 7-14 days. After that, you lose approximately 30-50% of complete color during the healing process within 30 days.
WILL THE PROCEDURE BE PAINFUL OR CAUSE ANY DISCOMFORT….
Slight discomfort may be felt for some, even after the topical anesthetic has been used. Anesthetics work better on some people than others. Most have described the first initial hair strokes as if you were getting your brows tweezed and 5-10 minutes more into the procedure you don’t feel even that. Everyone is different. Those individuals with Thyroid conditions or Diabetes may experience less pain tolerance.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS TREATMENT….
People who have over-plucked or waxed brow hair.
People who have gaps or scars where the hair will not grow back.
People who are suffering from Alopecia (hair loss), or Hair loss from cancer treatments.
People who have faded color from an old eyebrow tattoo.
People who want a particular shape for their eyebrows or have sparse hair.
WHO SHOULD NOT GET THE PROCEDURE DONE….
People who have keloid formation.
People who use Accutane and/or Retin-A users.
People who have active disorders, e.g., pink eye, psoriasis, warts, active herpes simplex, or zoster. Wait until the condition clears.
People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
People who have blood disorders, e.g., sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, clients taking anticoagulant medication such as coumadin, heparin, or large doses of aspirin.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I REQUIRE….
In most cases only the initial treatment, followed by a touch up (follow up treatment). However in rare cases you may require 1 or two more treatments. If you have a buildup of dead skin cells it can inhibit the pigment from taking to your skin. Exfoliating regularly helps to prevent the buildup of dead skin cells.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I ARRIVE AT MY APPOINTMENT….
You will be given a consent form to sign, then you will relax while I outline your brows into a shape that you like. Next a color consultation will take place. After that I will “clean up” your brow by removing a few hairs and apply an anesthetic cream to the area to minimize discomfort. The “mother strokes are applied” then a further numbing agent. The next strokes put the pigment color in the skin. The process takes about 3 hours from start to finish.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY NEW BROWS….
The full healing period takes 6-8 weeks, depending on age. Use only a mild cleanser (natural baby is best, no fragrance) and clean cotton rounds or gauze. Avoid any exfoliants during the healing process. Avoid any makeup on the brow area during the healing process. Apply minimal after-care product given, only if necessary.
